With Brandon Flowers cut, the Los Angeles Chargers appear ready to move on completely.

News broke this morning that Brandon Flowers will no longer be a member of the Los Angeles Chargers. After the team announced that they would be relocating from San Diego, the news comes as their latest attempt to start over.

Flowers’ biggest setback might have been injuries, but more importantly it was cap space.

Los Angeles needs more money freed up to try and go after free agents that can help them win now.

SB Nation reported more on the situation, with more background on Flowers.

Per the report:

"“Parting ways with men I’ve gotten to know and respect is the toughest part of this job,” Chargers general manager Tom Telesco said. “I want to thank Brandon for his contributions and his professionalism throughout his three years with us. I wish D.J., Brandon, Stevie and their families all the best in the future.”Flowers, originally a second-round pick by the Chiefs, signed a blockbuster free agent deal with his former team’s division rival Chargers, agreeing to a four year, $36.4 million contract with $20 million guaranteed."

Other teams will be wary of the injury problem, but Flowers could find another place to play soon.

There are teams that need players at his position, and it could lead them to looking past the injury and the cap. Age will be a major factor in his next team, if any, because he is currently 31-years old.

Flowers isn’t the only victim of the morning cut. The Chargers also decided to part ways with D.J. Fluker and Stevie Johnson. Fluker served as offensive tackle, while Johnson was part of the receiving core.
