The Unexpected

Though Stripling logged 14 starts and 100 innings with the Dodgers last season, it is unlikely that he garners a large role with the team this season. The 27-year old was called up for a few spot starts and through a combination of injuries and timing, remained with the team and even appeared in three games during the NLCS.

His array of pitches is average as he relies mostly on soft-contact for his outs. He is neither a strikeout pitcher nor a control artist, and his fastball sits around 90 mph most days.

He likely will reprise his 2016 role of shuttling back-and-forth between AAA and the big leagues.
