Dodgers Preview 2017: The Pitching Rotation
By Evan Lovett
Slow & Steady Wins The Race
Though Maeda received a contract much less than his perceived market value, his reliability belied expectations as he chalked up 175 2/3 innings in 2016.
He slots perfectly as a number three starter on this staff, as he is the only right-handed pitcher amongst the projected rotation, and his 16 wins and 3.48 ERA match up favorably with nearly every number three in the league.
His arsenal includes a fastball, slider, curve and circle change, and he posted a 1.14 WHIP on the season.
