Closing Thoughts

Before the Lakers reach a point where they can be confident in their draft selections, they have to make sure they can handle their current load. Younger stars such as Brandon Ingram still need to find their place and pace with the team.

Getting to draft second overall for the past two seasons may end up paying off in the long run. Should they get the second selection this time around, there’s no telling what they’ll do.

Lonzo Ball could turn out to be the best prospect, meaning that the Celtics could land him overall. If not, the Lakers could swing for him with the second or third pick, but could also go for others.

He’s not the only point guard in the draft and far from the only position they need growth and help in. Magic Johnson is now responsible for the era of basketball from here on out.
