C.J. Cron

I really like C.J Cron. Cron seems like a great young corner infielder that has some pop in his bat, and with the right work ethic, can turn into a fairly decent slugger. Angels fans are likely keen on Cron as well, as he has slowly developed each and every season. Although he is getting better for the Halos, it may be best to cut ties and get talent elsewhere.

The Los Angeles Angels have made a few moves this offseason, one of them being the signing of Luis Valbuena. This deal has likely caused Cron to see less playing time, something the Angels should be taking note of.

As of now, veteran Albert Pujols is slotted as the starting DH and Valbuena the starting first baseman. This leaves Cron no place to start, and although he would be useful if an injury were to occur, they have Jefry Marte for that.

Instead of sitting on Cron and uses his talents only when necessary, the Halos should deal the slugger to bolster another area of their team. With the right trading partner, the Angels can do just that. A place that makes sense for Cron lies within their division Rival Houston Astros.

As of now, the Astros lack a true first baseman. The two likely candidates for the spot are both third basemen, and if the Astros can get Cron they could flip their excess of third baseman for that pitching they so desire.

The centerpiece should be Evan Gattis.

What should the Angels ask for in return? The centerpiece should be Evan Gattis. I know, Gattis is not a very good fielding catcher, but he is not immensely bad. He could hold his own, and provide the Halos with a 30 home run season.

A straight swap between Cron and Gattis seems like a great deal for both sides as neither guy is currently starting on their respective teams.
