Rob Refsnyder

Although the Dodgers do already have a utility option in Enrique Hernandez, acquiring Rob Refsnyder from the Yankees seems like a no-brainer. Not only does he seem like a perfect fit for this Dodgers team, the Yankees are reportedly shopping the 25-year-old. Out of the Dodgers rumor this will likely be the most realistic to occur.

Rob Refsynder would prove to be a great asset to this Los Angeles Dodgers team. While Hernandez also can play a multitude of positions, Refsnyder has more importance. Refsnyder has played first, second, and third base along with shortstop and the outfield. Hernandez also can play most of these positions but is lacking the key ones.

Rob Refsynder would prove to be a great asset to this Los Angeles Dodgers team.

First and foremost is the corner infield spots. The Dodgers do have Rob Segedin to potentially back up Adrian Gonzalez and Justin Turner, but that should not be enough. Refsynder would be a good option behind both men, and could only progress into a legitimate talent as time goes on.

Also, Refsnyder could back up Corey Seager. The Dodgers do have pretty mediocre backups for the young phenom, and if he needs rest Dave Roberts won’t need to worry about a horrible replacement. Refsnyder would see a lot of time in this Dodgers team as the star’s cycle throughout their breaks.

To acquire Refsynder the Dodgers would likely need to deal a big league arm along with a minor league prospect. Somebody like Alex Wood or Scott Kazmir could be sent to New York along with a lower end prospect such as Omar Estevez.
