There are many speculations in the NFL Free Agency and could one these stories be Geno Smith going to the Chargers in the future?

Geno Smith is an athlete, hence is an NFL quarterback. However it has been a while since he has played or started a NFL game.

The New York Jets drafted him to turn around the team, however they only went 8-8. They ended the season with a sub-par record and no playoff appearance.

The future looked bright for Geno Smith in New York, since he was a college star. Therefore the question is what is next for Geno Smith.

Will the Los Angeles Chargers sign him to LA in NFL free agency?

Then everything seemed to come tumbling down.

From drafting another quarterback in 2015 (Bryce Petty) who seems to be their future guy now and getting into a fight with a former teammate. As a result from the fighting altercation, he had to have surgery on his broken jaw.

The argument was about money. Money didn’t cause the problem here, the love of money is what caused the problem.

Well last season Geno Smith earned the role of starting quarterback after taking it from veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, since he was holding out on a contract deal.

During the season, Geno Smith injured himself guiding the Jets to turn back to Fitzpatrick. Then they turned to Bryce Petty Because Fitzpatrick wasn’t doing well.

Had Geno Smith not got injured he would have had all season to prove himself and the show the Jets what he is capable of. Now in 2017 they seem to be wanting to trade him therefore they can get someone in return.

Geno Smith’s statistical career numbers are hard to breathe in, yet they aren’t horrendous. For the few games he has played in he has thrown for about six thousand yards and a 87.9% QBR.

Who knows how he will perform given the chance to come back.

Could he pull off a Peyton Manning or will he pull off a Ryan Leaf?

Only time will tell.

The next question is which team could the Jets trade him to in a deal hence they receive players and picks in return.

Additionally, if the Chargers can’t find anyone in NFL free agency or the draft should they trade for Geno Smith? In the moment, I would say yes until the find their future quarterback.

They will have to find their future quarterback in this draft. If they don’t they will have to manage with Geno Smith until next years draft.

Also, trading for Geno Smith, they need to find a way so they don’t give too many assets away to New York.
