Brandon Ingram

The first year forward and former Duke standout Brandon Ingram has the lowest chance of being traded. Out of the whole young core, Ingram is the player the front office has shown they actually care about in trade talks — and that means something.

As much smack talk as can be thrown around towards Mitch Kupchak and the front office prior to Magic Johnson’s administration, they did something smart before being let go.

Instead of including Ingram in trade talks with the Sacramento Kings for then-Sacramento big man DeMarcus Cousins, the Lakers played hard to get.

They included other players from the young core, but refused to let Ingram enter the discussion.

Because of that, the Kings were forced to look elsewhere for their supposed best interest and got a sloppy deal done with the Pelicans.

Now that it’s behind him, Ingram has to show that he was worth standing up for. During a scuffle against the Milwaukee Bucks in Los Angeles on Friday night, the rookie showed that he is willing to get in the middle of things for his teammates.

He’s just got to grow a little bit physically and turn his game into something other young stars can’t match or handle.
