LA Galaxy vs San Jose Earthquakes

This rivalry comes in at number 11. We kicked it back all the way to the MLS. To be honest this choice was hard because I wanted to say the Seattle Sounders. I stuck with the Earthquakes, because of past history in the playoffs as well as regular season.

This game comes down to not who can prevent less goals, but who can score more goals.

These games usually never end in regulation, there has to be overtime and sometimes a penalty shootout, especially in the playoffs. In the regular season it just goes down as a tie on the record.

For example, out of the three matches they faced each other in 2016 they drawed 1-1 twice and won 3 to 1 in the first match. Additionally, one team could be out of the playoffs and can have the chance at that time to knock the opponent out  or kick down to a lower seed.
