The 2017 NCAA Tournament if full of madness in March.

In the 2017 NCAA tournament there has already been a few upsets and scares. The UCLA Bruins held their ground and advance to the Sweet 16.

They received help from the entire team in various departments. The Lady Bruins were playing unselfish basketball and it showed in their rout of Texas A&M.

Yes, the Bruins advance to the Sweet 16 for the 2nd year in a row, however this time they face Connecticut. It is going to be a rough game for the Bruins, yet if they can put their first two performances together and be near flawless they can pull of the upset.

Kari Korver was their leading scorer of the night scoring 21 points of 7 field goals which were all from beyond the arc. Kennedy Burke was just shy of a double-double with 9 assists and 9 points.

Jordan Canada once again put in work. She earned another double-double with 11 assists and 12 points. Additionally, Monica Billings even scored 12 points. Almost every Bruin scored and four were in double figures.

The Bruins should have had two players with double-doubles and one of those was close to reaching a triple-double. This is great for the Bruins. If they are going to defeat the University of Connecticut they need everyone to score. Also, they need multiple players in double figures.

Most importantly they need to play unselfish basketball, crash the glass, and focus on defense with their offense.

They had 23 assists which shows their selfless attitudes. Additionally, they need to drive to the basket against Connecticut and draw the fouls. This is something they didn’t do against Texas A&M as they were 5-8 from the free throw line.

UCLA held Texas A&M to just 18 made field goals out of 58 attempts. This is called good defense, if not poor shot selection.

The Bruins need to shut down the Lady Huskies and not turnover the ball to have a higher chance of winning and coming away with the upset.

Will the Bruins game against the Huskies in the 2017 NCAA tournament be easy?

No it won’t, but they will not go down without a fight.

As long as the Bruins bench can score, rebound, force turnovers, and not turn the ball over then they have a chance.

Doing this will keep the flow of the game and allow the starters to take control when they come back in. It will also help he Bruins to not be in a deep hole.
