Jeremiah Attaochu

Jeremiah Attaochu is one of those players that seemed to always be on the brink of greatness. Drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Chargers, Attaochu has shown that he has the ability to be an impact player. However, injuries have not been on his side, and riding healthy into next season we could see big things out of Attaochu.

In his three seasons in the league, 2015 was his most active. In his rookie season he played in 11 games, starting none. 2015 was Attaochu play in 15 games starting 12. Then, last season the line backer was limited to eight games with one game started. With the full workload of a starter, Attaochu may be a lot better than we realize.

In 2015 Attaochu put up fairly good numbers. In his 15 games and 12 starts he logged 42 tackles, ten assisted tackles, and six sacks. The big number there being the six sacks, if Attaochu is given the time of an everyday starter he could easily surpass the ten sack mark and be one of the best pass rushing line backers in the league.

With Manti T’eo heading to the Saints, the Chargers are going to need to rely on Attaochu to play a solid role in their defense. Los Angeles’ defense has been historically bad the last few seasons, and Attaochu needs to contribute in this change.

Playing alongside great pass rushers Joey Bosa and Corey Liuget, Attaochu may be able to find more holes than normal, and he will capitalize on those holes next season.
