Final Thoughts

UCLA’s game versus Kentucky is going to be epic. This is being labeled the most anticipated Sweet 16 match up of this century. With six surefire NBA prospects on the court at any given time, every college basketball-oriented eyeball in the nation will be on the FedEx Forum in Memphis.

For the Bruins to survive and advance to the Elite Eight, they are going to need to play their usual game, but better. With Welsh, Leaf, Anigbogu and Holiday in the rotation, UCLA has enough depth to advance. And they have the added confidence of having defeated the Wildcats previously at Rupp Arena. But that means Kentucky will be out for revenge. For there to be a reprise of the early season result, the Bruins need to play even better.

This is going to involve tightening up the defense, relying heavily on Lonzo Ball and ensuring that their senior guards get open looks and hit shots. Those are the three keys for UCLA moving on in the tournament, continuing their march towards cutting down the nets on April 3rd.
