In my latest piece on the NBA Draft 2017, here’s a look at how the bottom dwellers fare.

Right now, the unfortunate but fortunate reality for the Los Angeles Lakers is the upcoming draft lottery. After taking players in the last few seasons, the chances are that they’ll be at it again this summer.

In an attempt to try and find that next young star, their positioning matters very much. Out of the bottom three teams — Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and Phoenix — they are currently in the middle of the pack.

Brooklyn, whose pick would go to the Boston Celtics, is currently worst with a 16-57 record. Surprisingly enough, the Lakers are second worst with a 21-52 mark after Sunday’s loss versus Portland.

Phoenix, despite an incredible night against the Celtics in which Devin Booker scored 70 points, is third worst overall at 22-52.

They are just a half game better than the Lakers, but that could make all of the difference.

With so much on the line, here’s a better look at those teams as well as their remaining schedule. It says a lot about how their seasons will end, as well as what their immediate future could look like.
