Clayton Kershaw – 99

Kershaw is the best pitcher in the game. The former MVP may well be the best player in the game. Sharing the top rating with Mike Trout, it is clear that these two are likely the Sandy Koufax and Mickey Mantle of the modern generation, transcending the sport while playing in the same city.

Kershaw’s bona fides are unassailable. With unparalleled six consecutive top-five Cy Young finishes, a lifetime 2.37 ERA and a .677 career winning percentage, there has not been a pitcher this consistently dominant in half a century. Unbelievably, he is still improving. In a limited 2016 campaign, Kershaw’s microscopic 1.69 ERA and ridiculous 15.64 strikeouts to walk ratio led to a 0.72 WHIP.

In short, Kershaw is nearly unhittable. He is a once-in-a-lifetime pitcher and deserves the 99 rating. Hopefully in the future the guys over at MLB the Show can develop a rating above 99 because we all know that Kershaw fits that criteria.
