Rich Hill – 87

For a pitcher with a 38-28 career record and a 4.10 ERA, it may seem that an 87 rating is the result of transposed digits. But like everything else with Rich Hill, one needs to look closer to really see the true beauty of the left-handed curveball specialist.

His volatile career almost came to a close in 2014 when he was released by the Red Sox. Since then, he has completely reinvented himself, utilizing advanced pitching mechanics and sabermetrics to help him become a more sturdy and effective pitcher.

Relying on an unorthodox approach and pitching off of his curveball, Hill has simply been one of the best pitchers in the game over his last 24 starts. Hill is 18-6 with a 2.01 ERA in the last season-and-a-half and is striking out 10.7 batters per nine innings.

The Dodgers appreciated his efforts so much they rewarded him with a three-year, $48 million. The Show understands baseball enough to rank him as one of the top starters with an 87. It is a well-deserved ranking.
