Lakers rumors: Three reasons why they should draft Josh Jackson

A chance for limited distractions
While no player is perfect, their conduct off of the court is analyzed just as much, if not more, than their actual play. For Josh Jackson to be worth it, the Lakers have to take into account how much it could derail focus.
Last season, the major incident for the purple and gold came when then-rookie D’Angelo Russell made Nick Young’s private life a PR nightmare. After leaking a video of Young confessing to not being faithful, it caused chemistry issues that were visible.
Teammates wouldn’t pass to Russell on great shot opportunities. After the game, they’d be distant from him and leave him by himself. It was a hard place for him to be, but the great thing is that it’s behind him and Young now.
It’s the last thing they should want from their newest draft pick. Taking Lonzo Ball might help their style of play fit into a certain box, but it also comes with the weight of LaVar Ball. Lonzo’s father has been making headlines thanks to bizarre claims related to either himself or his son.
Josh Jackson doesn’t come without baggage, though. The prospect has traffic violations as well as charges relating to property damage. A small glimpse into his maturity in college, Jackson insists that those days are behind him.
