The Los Angeles Chargers have specific needs that need to be met in the 2017 NFL Draft.

The 2017 NFL Draft is fast approaching, and there is no doubt that the Los Angeles Chargers are eager after their recent lack of success.

The Los Angeles Chargers are in the midst of an unsuccessful tenure. After being one of the most dominant teams in the league in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s, the Chargers are now struggling to piece together a winning season. Once a 14 win team under Phillip Rivers, the Chargers have only won nine games combined in the last two seasons.

Bringing their losing ways from San Diego over to Los Angeles, it makes the city of LA actually pretty lackluster. The Ducks are doing good over in Anaheim, but besides that, the Dodgers and Clippers are the only winning teams in Los Angeles. There is no doubt that the Chargers do not want to add to this mediocrity and want to take LA by storm.

The Chargers already seem to have the building blocks somewhat in place. Veteran Quarterback Phillip Rivers has at least another three years of great play, especially throwing balls to Keenan Allen.

Antonio Gates still has a year or two left in the tank, with Hunter Henry ready to step in and be a big-time player. Joey Bosa is the future of defense not just for the Chargers but the entire league, and guys like Melvin Gordon and Jason Verrett have shown flashes of greatness.

Still, there are holes the Chargers need to plug, especially after consecutive disappointing seasons. In the 2017 NFL draft, they need to plug these holes.
