In the fourth round of this mock draft, the Chargers stayed in California by drafting Cal Wide Receiver Chad Hansen. Hansen has not been projected to be a huge impact player in this draft, however, his combine results show that Hansen is an athletic guy that can excel in the league. His stats with Cal only solidify this assessment in Hansen being an impact receiver right out of college.

While he may not have the makeup of a primary receiver, he would be the perfect secondary option at wideout and would likely receive a lot of playing time in the slot for Los Angeles. With Travis Benjamin being his potential competition for wideout, it is not absurd to assume that if the Chargers did draft Hansen he could be an everyday starter as early as 2017.

While Hansen’s 4.53 40 yard dash time is not the most impressive in the combine, his vertical and broad jump show off his athleticism. Hansen recorded a 35-inch vertical jump along with his broad jump being very shy of ten feet. This athleticism would undoubtedly make him a vertical threat.

The wide receiving core in the draft is not that stellar, and Hansen will likely easily fall to the fourth round for the Chargers to scoop him up. His 9.2 receptions per game and 124.9 yards per game will certainly lead Hansen to be a pleasurable target for Rivers.
