2017 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Rams Five Round Mock Draft
By Jason Reed
The Los Angeles Rams had an unsuccessful opening year in their return to Los Angeles. Now, heading into the 2017 NFL Draft, which areas do the team need to address?
The Los Angeles Rams made a splash in last year’s NFL draft, moving up to the number one overall selection to secure quarterback Jared Goff. The Rams sent the Titans a total of six picks, including this year’s first and third round, in return for the Titans 2016 first, fourth, and sixth round picks.
Now, a year later, after a lackluster campaign from Jared Goff, the trade seems all but pointless. The Rams were looking to slowly ease Goff into playing time, but that process was accelerated when Case Keenum played like, well, Case Keenum. Even in his time on the field, Goff didn’t do great, throwing only five touchdowns and seven picks in seven games started.
Especially with the draft class of 2017, this trade seems all the more illogical for the Rams. They would have had the fifth overall pick, having a choice between quarterbacks Deshaun Watson or Mitchell Trubisky. However, the Rams need to roll with the punches that they have already thrown, and make the most out of their situation.
Therefore, here at LA Sports Hub, we conducted a simulated seven-round mock draft for the Rams. With the sixth and seventh round being practically irrelevant, today we are looking at the first five selections that Rams could make in the 2017 NFL Draft.
This mock draft was conducted using Fanspeak’s On the Clock Mock Draft Simulator.
