Dodgers Rumors: Three Takeaways from Dodgers Opening Day 2017
By Evan Lovett
Final Thoughts
With a robust offense, a rejuvenated Yasiel Puig and a top-of-form Clayton Kershaw, the Dodgers announced to the National League that they are going to be able to compete with everybody in 2017.
Will it be enough to overtake the Chicago Cubs, who possess a fearsome lineup and accomplished pitching staff? What about Max Scherzer’s Washington Nationals or the Noah Syndergaard/Jacob deGrom/Matt Harvey/Zach Wheeler New York Mets, who will battle it out in the National League East? Even the pesky Giants can not be counted out, as they play great baseball every season.
As it looked on Opening Day, the Dodgers are equipped to make a long run into October. They are going to need to perform consistently for 162 games and three postseason series. If they continue to get contributions from the entire roster, and their superstars perform accordingly, you just might hear Randy Newman on repeat throughout L.A. well into 2018.

We can all hope for a promising season out of the boys in blue. If Opening Day means anything, the Dodgers looked primed for yet another playoff push – and it all started with a 14-3 victory.
