The latest Dodgers news shows that the club reverted to their 2016 form against left-handed pitchers, losing 4-0 to journeyman Clayton Richard.

Generating only five hits and grounding into four double plays, the Dodgers did not advance a runner past second base the entire evening. Richard was highly effective, as 16 of his 24 outs came via the ground ball.

The Dodgers now stand with one win and one loss on the year and head into the rubber matchup tonight with Rich Hill on the hill against the Padres’ Trevor Cahill. Though the Padres are expected to be the punching bag for the rest of the National League and the Dodgers are heavily favored tonight, the Dodgers head into the game with a bit of pressure. The optics of losing two to the Padres would be painful.

With that in mind, we take a look at last night’s loss and what can be gleaned by the listless performance on an otherwise gorgeous night in Los Angeles.
