2. The Dodgers Have Immense Depth

For the first time in what seems like a long time, the Dodgers have immense depth that is also very talented. The biggest issue for the Dodgers has been injury and the lack of true talent behind starting guys. Now, the team has more depth than we have seen in quite some time, and it is a very promising sign considering recent World Series champions.

I mean, the team has always seemingly had a log jam in the outfield but has never had this much all around talent. Just look back at the game that Yasiel Puig made his debut, that line-up was so shockingly thin that I cannot believe Puig rallied troops to push for the postseason. Granted, at that time the team was very hurt, but not as hurt as last season and last season the Dodgers thrived.

Heck, if it wasn’t for a first inning full of soft contact that just happened to fall, that game could have been completely different.

I know that last night we saw familiar struggles against left-handed pitching, but the team addressed that issue this offseason and I am certain that the Dodgers will come around and produce a winning record against lefties. Heck, if it wasn’t for a first inning full of soft contact that just happened to fall, that game could have been completely different.

Franklin Guiterrez and Logan Forsythe provide a better look lefties, add in Scott Van Slyke, Enrique Hernandez, and Yasiel Puig and the team does have some promising points. With speedster Andrew Toles, an improving Joc Pederson, a veteran Adrian Gonzalez, a superstar Corey Seager, a run producing Justin Turner, and a slugging Yasmani Grandal, the team has so much depth.

The depth doesn’t stop there, however, as the pitching game has learned from last season and has so many options. Alex Wood, Julio Urias, Trevor Oaks, Ross Stripling, and Scott Kazmir are all guys that can fill in when needed. Add to an already solid bullpen, and the Dodgers look good.
