This deal may not give the Lakers a superstar as the other two do on this list, but it does give them some solid players that would sum up their team nicely. Whether or not the Lakers come out in the positive on this deal would all depend on the progression of Khris Middleton. However, the Lakers would also receive a veteran center in Greg Monroe that could perhaps become one of the best sixth men in the league.

Khris Middleton would give the Lakers a true shooting guard that they need alongside Lonzo Ball. The second round selection has played nicely in this league, this year averaging 14.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. Middleton has shown the capability of scoring just over 18 points per game, doing so last year, and would be the perfect right-hand man to Lonzo Ball.

The Lakers would get similar production in Khris Middleton that they do with D’Angelo Russell, and they would also be able to dump the massive contract of Timofey Mozgov in favor for someone that can actually produce. While Monroe’s contract is ever so slightly greater, he would uncertainly produce far more than Mozgov does for the Lakers.

This deal does give the Lakers a true shooting guard that they need, which is certainly a plus. However, the entirety of this deal would rely upon whether or not Khris Middleton can live up to his potential in the next two seasons.

If he can, then great, the Lakers do not miss out on anything and can turn Russell into an area of need. To cover their grounds entirely, I would add a future first round pick for the Bucks – making this deal a no-brainer.
