Lakers Rumors: Possible Trade Packages for Brandon Ingram
By Jason Reed
In this deal we see the Lakers send the duo of Jordan Clarkson and Brandon to the Suns for Eric Bledsoe and T.J. Warren. The Lakers are effectively swapping their small forward of the future for the Suns small forward of the future while giving up Clarkson and second round pick for stud Eric Bledsoe.
T.J. Warren would be an instant boost to the Lakers team. Warren has averaged 14.3 points, 1.1 assists, and 5.1 rebound per game this season. That is a bump in every stat except assists from Brandon Ingram, showing that it would be an immediate improvement for the team. However, Brandon Ingram has the higher ceiling hands down, while likely gives the Suns the better small forward.
However, Warren is not a bad replacement and it is who he is included with that would make this deal so lucrative. Eric Bledsoe has averaged 21.1 points, 6.3 assists, and 4.8 rebounds at guard. He shows the versatility to play both point and shooting guard and could swap off with D’Angelo as Luke Walton deems necessary.
This deal would make the most sense if the Lakers were to draft Josh Jackson with their first round selection this year. Jackson and Ingram have nearly identical college stats – Jackson scoring one less point per game but averages one more assist and 0.6 more rebounds – which would lead to similar production from Jackson that would be present in Ingram.
This would the Lakers good depth at the small forward position as both Warren and Jackson would provide minutes at the three. Although a lot of stones need to fall in place for this deal to occur if it were to occur it would sum the Lakers up nicely.
