Lakers Rumors: Possible Trade Packages for Brandon Ingram
By Jason Reed
This deal seemingly is the Jazz having a plan B if Gordon Hayward were to depart from Utah in hopes of a big day. Quite frankly, although the Lakers are not really addressing any area of need with this deal, it would be so one-sided it is hard to see the Jazz accepting this offer. However, if 2K says it can happen, then it must have a chance, right?
The Lakers effectively would be accomplishing two things with this deal; they would give themselves a great front court that’s already being built off of the young stars and would open themselves up for further trade. Having both Julius Randle and Larry Nance Jr. would be pointless after this deal, which would lead the team in likely one of those two guys.
Rudy Gobert would give the Lakers that dominant big man that has present in nearly every successful Lakers team. Averaging 14.0 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game Gobert’s mere presence on the court would make the Lakers a better team.
Add in Derrick Favors, who has really grown as a player, and the Lakers would have a dominant duo to compliment their other young guys. Favors is averaging 9.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game this season. The Lakers would likely have him be a dominant sixth man behind Julius Randle, potentially filling in time at small forward as well.
The Lakers would perform highway robbery if this deal were to take place. It would give them much more flexibility on not only the trade market but in the NBA Draft as well. However, out of all the lakers rumors, this one may be the least likely.
