We all turn to the latest Lakers rumors to bring our hopes up that the team can once again thrive. According to these Lakers rumors, there are three deals that can land LA a superstar.

First, we looked at trade packages that the team could receive for D’Angelo Russell; then, we looked at trade packages the team could receive for Brandon Ingram. Now, we look at perhaps the most lucrative of the Lakers rumors, the possible superstars the Lakers can land via trade. Spoiler alert, nearly all of these deals involve the Lakers 2018 first round pick, but, if the team lands Lonzo Ball this year and a superstar via trade, that pick may not be worth much anyways.

The Lakers need a superstar, it is obvious. This is the first time in perhaps forever that the team is lacking a true star. While they don’t need someone to the caliber of Kobe, Magic, Shaq, West, etc., they do need a guy that can carry the team on their back. It doesn’t have to be a Lebron James or Steph Curry, but they do need someone to build around with their young core.

D’Angelo Russel and Brandon don’t seem to have that superstar factor that the team so desires. Sure, they will likely progress into very talented individuals that could be all-stars, but not that genuine they need. Lonzo Ball may be that guy in the future, but he isn’t even on the team yet.

Therefore, according to the trade finder within NBA 2K17, here are three potential trade packages that could land the Lakers a superstar.
