The next step for the UCLA Bruins is moving on from Lonzo Ball.

It’s been great, but the love between UCLA and Lonzo Ball was only for a year. The one and done point guard is heading to the NBA, which means it’s time for the Bruins to grab their next star.

From the looks of it, they’ll be strong competitors thanks in part to Jaylen Hands.

Hands is a five star recruit from San Diego with some crazy leaping ability. While participating in a dunk contest, the future Bruin threw down a dunk on both of his parents without a problem.

Athleticism like that wasn’t the biggest part of Lonzo Ball’s game, as it was more his passing and facilitating ability. Now the Bruins have a point guard who can be electric and take control of a game.

Losing in the Sweet 16 to Kentucky in the most recent edition of March Madness stings, but it’s not the end of the world. Hands isn’t even being compared to Ball, but rather to superstar Russell Westbrook.

Per theScore:

"Incoming UCLA five-star guard Jaylen Hands showed off why he is the 26th overall player in the 2017 recruiting class and why Bruins fans may not miss Lonzo Ball all that much next season. In a high school dunk competition on Friday, Hands pulled both his mother and father out of the crowd and then proceeded to dunk easily over both of them.Hands will be replacing Ball as the Bruins’ point guard next season, but far more fits the mold of former UCLA great Russell Westbrook with his athleticism, than the playmaking Ball."

If that prediction comes true at the college and pro level, UCLA will help produce and groom one of the next stars at the top.
