The Los Angeles Chargers may be looking to draft Phillip Rivers successor in the 2017 NFL Draft. In this mock draft, the team did just that.

Phillip Rivers has been the anchor for the Chargers since his debut back in 2006, not missing a single game in that span. Chargers fans have become accustomed to Rivers side arm throwing, and all of the ups and downs the veteran quarterback has had.

Now, with perhaps three or four seasons left in the tank, the Chargers are discussing drafting a successor to Rivers much like they did when they traded for Rivers to succeed Drew Brees.

However, alongside potentially drafting the quarterback of the future, there are many holes the Chargers need to address heading into the 2017 season and, unfortunately, they only have seven picks to do so. While free agency also is an option, Los Angeles’ newest team is unlikely to lure in any big name free agents, especially after the team’s recent seasons.

That leads to all signs pointing to the 2017 NFL Draft, the team must capitalize on the talent available. The Chargers made a very wise selection last year, selecting the Defensive Rookie of the Year Joey Bosa. The organization is going to need to build off of these smart selections if they want to change their success in the future.

Therefore, with that being said, do the Chargers plug those holes in our latest seven-round mock draft?
