In the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft the Los Angeles Chargers again turned their attnetion to the defensive side of things and drafted cornerback Tre’Davious White out of LSU. The Chargers are in desperate need of corners, especially after releasing Brandon Flowers, and White would be a good edition to the starting unit of the Chargers defense.

White received the third best cornerback combine score from NFL.com receiving a 6.0 rating with some promising aspects to his performance. The LSU corner ran a 4.47 40-yard dash, had a 32 inch vertical, and a 119 inch broad jump. This combine perfomance goes hand in hand with the kind of season he had at LSU last year.

In his senior with the LSU Tigers White reecorde 35 tackles, two interceptions, and one fumble recovery. One of White’s interceptions was indeed a pick-six, adding into his 14 passes deflected in 12 games. White’s stats on the surface may not be all that eye opening, but with comparasions to Tracy Porter White may be in for a good NFL career.

White would be an instant starter on the Los Angeles Chargers, and could be a big producer in the several years to come. The speed and agility of White alongside Jason Verrett would give the Chargers a nice 1-2 punch in the secondary.
