7. Greg Robinson – 2nd Overall 2014

Had Greg Robinson been, let’s say, a late round pick he would not be a disappointment, he would be playing better than expected. However, Robinson has not played up the worth of a second overall pick, and if you look at the Guys the Rams passed up to secure Robinson it is even more sickening.

There are several guys the Rams could have gotten to help other areas of need on the team. Let’s see, Khalil Mack went fifth overall to the Raiders, Mike Evans seventh overall to the Bucs, and Odell Beckham Jr. went 12th overall to the Giants. Heck, even better offensive tackle options were available as Pro bowler Taylor Lewan went 11th overall to the Titan

Overall, Robinson has played decently as best but has not shown much potential. The Rams have noticed that as they benched Robinson twice last season as he was the NFL leader in penalties. As Tyler Nelson of Ramblin’ Fan puts it (a FanSided affiliated site):

"According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Robinson has had the lowest starting LT grade ever since he was drafted. Robinson’s grades for 2014 and 2015 are 41.3 and 35.9. Far below the NFL average."

Ouch, that is tough to hear for Rams fans. There was so much talent that could have been taken second overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, but, on a positive note, the team did nail their 13th overall selection.
