Tyler Eifert

Former Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert has seen his role decrease with the Cincinnati Bengals, partially because of injury and partially because of the depth at the tight end position. Regardless, Eifert only has one season left under contract, and with the reduced workload, will cost the Rams absolutely nothing if they did decide to pursue him.

The Rams are in need of tight ends, their passing game is already considerably weak and they need to make some sort of effort to ease the blow. Even in Eifert is only a one season solution, this gives the Rams time to gather themselves and pursue a guy in the draft next year when they have more picks. Heck, if Eifert works out the Rams might even resign him which would be a win for both sides.

Despite only appearing in eight games, and starting two, last season Eifert is still fairly young and has a gifted skill set. Despite seeing limited time, Eifert still managed to be on the receiving end of five touchdown passes averaging 49.3 yards per game. In his Pro Bowl season, which was only in 2015, Eifert recorded 13 touchdown passes with 615 yards in 13 games.

Heck, even if Eifert plays at his absolute worst potential he will still be a legitimate threat in the red zone for the Rams. With his six-foot-six frame and great hands for a tight end, Eifert very well could be on the receiving end of multiple Jared Goff touchdown passes in 2017.
