Yasiel Puig

I am a huge fan of Yasiel Puig, and constantly seeing Dodgers fans ridicule him and ask for his removal from the team honestly sickens me. While he has been inconsistent, Puig has made leaps and bounds in his maturity and has given up so much for the Dodgers organization it is almost disrespectful to wish for that. However, being realistic, this may be the year that Puig is dealt.

The Dodgers are once again being linked to former MVP, outfielder Ryan Braun. For those of you unaware, the Dodgers and Brewers were reportedly in the midst of trade talks that would send Braun to Los Angeles last season. The deal obviously fell through, but the other named often rumored in the deal? Yasiel Puig.

While a straight flip for Braun and Puig is highly unlikely, a deal sending Puig and a minor league pitching prospect would make a lot of sense for both sides. The Dodgers are getting more production in Braun, and while it is very sad to see Puig go if it increases the team’s World Series chances then I am more than okay with it.

So, while fans may still be able to see a prolific corner outfielder with a lot of pop at season’s end, that man may not be Yasiel Puig. Puig has been rumored to separate with the Dodgers for quite some time now, and now in 2017, this may be the time.
