In what is arguably the worst deal of the three included on this list, we see the Lakers do business with their championship rivals the Boston Celtics. The Lakers are getting a decent return out of this deal, however, they may be giving up too much which makes this deal the worst of the three. However, it is still decent in nature so it deserves to be talked about.

This trade would cover the Lakers ground with big men, bringing in Kelly Olynyk. The Lakers could either transition the seven-foot center to play power forward, which would make the team huge but it is highly unlikely. Still, Olynyk would be a great backup center to Ivica Zubac, as he averages just under ten points and five rebounds a game playing just 20 minutes.

The Lakers then could spend their high second round pick on a shot blocker like Jordan Bell. The team would not lose much at power forward and would bring in other guys in different areas.

Then, Marcus Smart could be the perfect topper on an already young core at the guard position. Assuming that the Lakers do draft Lonzo Ball, this would give them Ball and Russell as starters, and Clarkson and Smart off the bench. That is very deep backcourt if I have ever seen one.

Playing behind Isaiah Thomas Smart averages 30 minutes a game, averaging 10.6 points, 4.6 assists, and 3.9 rebounds at the point guard position.
