Closing Thoughts

When it’s all said and done, the team with the most at stake in the draft remains the Lakers. Not only did they make the front office moves that have everyone around them or familiar with the situation expecting a splash, but their fan base is waiting.

Starving for that next superstar, the new front office can’t wait much longer to get it together. There’s promise with Paul George, but until he signs anything there’s no guarantee.

As stated before, Magic Johnson is going to be more of a deal and free agency person than a draft one. Nobody should expect them to come out swinging, even with the third overall pick. De’Aaron Fox will be a nice contribution, but the real star power will come later on.

For the moment, Fox will be that star point guard, or at least could be, that D’Angelo Russell hasn’t exactly been. He’s had flashes of greatness, sure, but he hasn’t been able to harness it all and stay consistent.
