Where would be without March Madness?

North Carolina forward Justin Jackson gave us quite a show this season, leading the Tar Heels on a revenge tour through the tournament. On his way to becoming a national champion and avenging a buzzer beating loss from a year ago, Jackson pushed his draft stock higher.

Shooting well from deep and being a determining factor on a championship team did just enough for that to happen.

Jackson’s fit with the Kings is interesting. They already have Rudy Gay and Tyreke Evans at the same position he plays, but he could be in play for a starting job.

Depending on how the off-season pans out, Sacramento could be one of those teams that trades more than anything else. We saw with the DeMarcus Cousins trade how desperate they were to get their best player out.

There wouldn’t be much haste with the other guys.

Gay has been vocally dismissive of how things roll in Sacramento. Dysfunction is the new thing for the team from California’s capitol — and Jackson may get sucked into that vacuum.

Not to say that he’d do bad personally, but as a rookie having that sort of distraction coming from within doesn’t help.

In any case, the Kings will take him tenth overall just in case their trading becomes trigger happy.
