As the 76ers continue to get good again, developing their 2017 draft pick is a must. Ben Simmons will be back and healthy, while Joel Embiid and company will hope they can make Philadelphia a contender sooner rather than later.

Drafting Isaac gives the Sixers more opportunities to improve their defense. The last few seasons haven’t been marvelous by any standard, but the minimal improvement is still going in the right direction.

Also, should the Lakers see their pick fall out of the top three (not for this mock, but still a possibility), they could add another star.

Isaac averaged 12 points and 7.8 rebounds while a member of the Seminoles basketball team. Although he saw an early exit in March Madness, Isaac’s draft stock remained separate from his team’s lack of success.

Latching on to the draft lottery for dear life the past few years, the final key is making sure he stays healthy. Injuries have plagued draft picks taken by Philadelphia through the lottery the last few seasons — they can’t afford to let that continue.
