2017 NFL Draft: Latest Seven-Round Rams Mock Draft
By Jason Reed
The 2017 NFL Draft must be a successful one for the Los Angeles Rams. Diving into this full seven-round mock draft, we see some bright spots.
The Los Angeles Rams do not have a first round pick this year, and they decided to sacrifice this year’s first and third round for quarterback Jared Goff. The Rams did get a compensatory selection for the third round, so they have at least that to look forward to. Regardless, the Rams have eight total picks from the second round on, giving them plenty of opportunities for talent.
Sure, the later rounds of the draft may contain some hidden gems, but for the most part, they will be low risk, high reward selections. If the later picks end out working, then the Rams will be extremely grateful, if not it is not a big deal. Los Angeles’ focus will undoubtedly be directed towards the first few rounds, with the later rounds coming together as the draft progresses.
With the draft just around the corner, the tensions are rising and so are the hopes as the Rams look for some sort of spark to turn the ship around. In an already young core, the draft picks in 2017 will be gratefully welcomed and, underneath new head coach Sean McVay, could be part of something special.
The Los Angeles Rams need something to turn around the franchise. The Rams have not had a winning season since 2003, showing the potential desperation they possess.
