Adrian Gonzalez has been the most consistent Dodger since his acquisition back in 2012. However, according to these Dodgers rumors, may we see A-Gone out of LA?

I love Adrian Gonzalez as much as the next guy, when the team acquired him back in 2012 I remember jumping for joy. Gonzalez always seemed to me to be meant for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and behold, he has found a comfortable home playing first base at Chavez Ravine.

While I love Adrian Gonzalez, with his increasing age and decreasing productivity it brings into question what kind of trade packages the Dodgers could receive for him. While something of this nature may not occur until this year’s trade deadline, or next, it is a realistic possibility. The Dodgers are awaiting their best prospect, Cody Bellinger, to play first base.

Bellinger could also play the corner outfield positions, which will likely be his gateway into the MLB. However, when the Dodgers front office sees his production at the big league level they may float the idea around of moving Gonzalez, and rightfully so.

The fact of the matter is that Gonzalez will be a free agent after next season. While the Dodgers may be looking to bring him back in a reduced role like Chase Utley, if they can get something out of him in the near future it may be the best move for the franchise.

The team needs a bat to hit left-handed pitching, and dealing a player of Gonzalez caliber to a contender will bring them just that. We may not see him moved for quite some time, but I do see it happening before his contract ends.

Therefore, as much as it hurts me to say, let’s take a look at three possible trade packages the Dodgers could receive for Adrian Gonzalez.
