The Clippers could become more attractive option

As bad as it appears George wants to be in a Lakers jersey, the reality is that the Clippers could wind up in the running for him. With Blake Griffin out with another postseason injury, the Clippers are going to need to test the waters.

If Griffin leaves in free agency via player option this off-season, it’ll only heat things up. That Los Angeles team has been trying to win a title for a few years now with the same core, but no luck.

George would shake things up just how the Clippers would want him too.

Where the Lakers have an edge in this battle, though, is history. George is the kind of player that would no doubt want to be in a place where he can be at the top of his game.

Many NBA legends have left their mark with the Lakers — much more so than with the Clippers.

An alternative approach to that argument which the Clippers would have to make is that they are closer to title contention that the young core of the Lakers.

The last time both LA teams were in the hunt for a star, Chris Paul ended up on the wrong side of Los Angeles.
