Closing Thoughts

Any final thoughts on the matter are a summary of what was talked about earlier on in the article. The prospect of another star coming home is great, especially for the star-deprived Lakers, but Los Angeles must be careful.

Also, grabbing George means having to explain to fans what that means for the plan to return to being great. If it affects it all in other ways that weren’t seen ahead of time, fans might not take it too well.

Finally, there’s always the chance that the Lakers could acquire him, but the lower end version. It happened to the Knicks with Carmelo Anthony, who didn’t play so great even into this past season.

All things considered, it’s a decision that Magic Johnson seems bent on using as a way to make a splash. As president of the team, fans have to ultimately respect it until he’s not in that same position of power.

He’s already made it clear that George is on his radar, and the All-Star hasn’t been quiet about his feelings either.
