4. Blake Griffin

Another member of the Los Angeles Clippers may be interested in joining the Lakers, and that man is Blake Griffin. Griffin would serve as the face of the Lakers now, something he has not been able to do on the Clippers as that role belongs to Chris Paul.

Perhaps falling in love with the Southern California lifestyle, Griffin may look to stay in Los Angeles but wear a different uniform. Also owning a player option heading into this offseason, Griffin has the ability to force the Clippers hand and either pay him or let him go. Griffin is the more likely of the two to leave the Clippers, and the Lakers may be his new home.

His physical presence, good rebounding, and natural scoring ability would be welcomed on the Lakers. The Lakers lack a true number one scorer, and if they went out and got Griffin they would have just that. Griffin is expanding his game to include a jump shot and a decent three-point shot, something that would add a new dynamic to this team.

As promising as it sounds, however, I do not think it would be wise for the Lakers to strike this deal. First, perhaps the best area of the team lies in the power forward position, showing that the team does not need to bring in another power forward.

Also, Griffin is way too susceptible to injury. Missing the entire playoffs for a right toe injury cements that, perhaps finally urging the Clippers to let him walk. While I don’t like the deal, Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka might, which gives Griffin a better chance than Carmelo Anthony or Chris Paul.

Chance of landing in LA: 30%
