Tre’Davious White – Cornerback, LSU

Should Adoree’ Jackson get selected before the Rams pick the team will likely turn to another reliable corner option, Tre’Davious White. Coming out of the LSU, White would give the Rams a different dynamic than Jackson, but would still be just as successful. With a higher combine rating of 6.0, it is evident that White is in no way a talent drop off from Jackson.

What is different between the two is not talent, as they certainly are very similar in the level of talent they posses. Instead, the difference is the play style and the pros and cons of both player. Jackson is immensely athletic who may take some time to adapt to NFL talent with proper NFL coaching.

White also is very athletic and can contribute to the special teams, but not the way that Jackson can. Where White makes small sacrifices in speed and athleticism, he makes up in technique and foot work. He is not a hard hitter, but neither is Jackson, and may be more successful in day one than Jackson would be.

Overall, while he may be the better player on day one, White does not have the same ceiling as Jackson. This is why he is most likely the Rams second option to pick at corner back. Regardless, White is a very talented corner that would give the Rams a reliable 1-2 punch alongside Trumaine Johnson.
