Bam Adebayo – Kentucky

Tankathon actually has Adebayo going 28th overall to the Los Angeles Lakers in their mock draft, which would actually be a great fit on the Lakers. Bam, whose real name is Edrice, is a promising talent out of the university of Kentucky. Already possessing a big man from Kentucky in Julius Randle, Adebayo would be a great fit in Luke Walton’s system.

Although he primarily played power forward for the Kentucky Wildcats, Adebayo could easily play at center as well. Although he only stands at six-foot-ten, his explosiveness and vertical prowess would cause Adebayo to be the perfect explosive option off of the bench for the Lakers. With the flexibility to play both power forward and center, it would give the Lakers much-needed depth.

In his freshman year at the University of Kentucky, Adebayo averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. He is a decent scoring and rebounding option and would give the Lakers physicality on the defensive end of the ball. Adebayo, slotted behind Ivica Zubac, would give the Lakers a rim protector off the bench – something they currently lack.

This pick may be the most realistic for the Lakers if they do intend on selecting a big man with their second first round pick. Should Adebayo still be available for the purple and gold when the 28th pick rolls around we should all expect his name to be called by Adam Silver.
