Blake Griffin’s Future

Where Blake Griffin decides to play next season matters. He’s had back to back seasons in Los Angeles that have ended with devastating injuries in the playoffs.

It’s not how any star in the league wants to go out, so a change of scenery might do him good. Losing to Utah only speeds up that process.

He could be looking at several teams in the free agency period not named the Clippers. Of those teams, some worth noting are the Lakers and Thunder.

The Lakers makes sense because it keeps him in Los Angeles, but changes the atmosphere. Los Angeles is in pursuit of what they hope to be their next big star, so that factors into discussions as well.

As for Oklahoma City, it would be a homecoming for Griffin. He may be at that point where he thinks enough is enough with the Clippers. One obvious plus about deciding to play with the Thunder is the possible duo that he and Russell Westbrook could be.

It’s not all bad for him if he leaves Los Angeles. But the same can’t be said the other way around.
