Chicago Bulls

With Fred Hoiberg reportedly on the hot seat in Chicago, the team may be looking for a new head coach to lead the way. Despite signing Hoiberg a five-year, $25 million dollar prior to the 2015 season, we may see the Bulls decide to go a different route. After under performing with a star-studded cast included Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade, and Rajon Rondo Hoiberg may be out the door.

Not only would Doc change the dynamic of the Bulls, he would reunite with former point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo was at his best playing under Doc Rivers’ system and could reignite that flame that he held with the Boston Celtics. At only 31 years old Rondo is arguably in the midst of his athletic prime, so bringing in a system he is familiar with could ignite the Bulls.

Plus, bringing in Rivers could be enough to convince Rondo not only to resign this year but to keep Jimmy Butler from departing. Butler has reportedly wanted to head out of Chicago, but if the team can convince him with an established coach in Rivers he may stay.

This will not only help the Bulls on the court, but the star power of Rivers alone could bring in coveted free agents. Heck, perhaps somehow in a crazy world Blake Griffin could follow Rivers to Chicago, giving the team a huge super team with Griffin, Wade, and Butler.

This is all speculation at this point, but the Bulls would be a great fit for Doc Rivers. Coaching in a big market has always been an aspect of Rivers career, and this would only continue that trend.
