Blake Griffin

What Blake Griffin needs is a shot at redemption. While the Clippers seem inclined to bring back the star forward, his being prone to injuries will be a turn off to any other team that previously thought about pursuing him.

More from LA Sports Hub

He’s got the athleticism and raw talent to be the best player on a younger team, but again the question surrounding him is injuries. Griffin has seen his season come to an end twice in a row in the first round of the playoffs.

First against Portland in 2016, where both he and Chris Paul were unable to return to the series midway through. Then came a major toe injury against the Utah Jazz in this postseason. It was a series that ended up going seven games, and the Clippers definitely missed his contributions in the do-or-die Game 7 they didn’t win.

But besides the team’s failed attempts at winning a title with a talented core, it might be around that time where Griffin has mentally quit on getting it done with the Clippers. Plus, even if they want him back, why would he return if the core around him might not be as good?

Chris Paul and J.J. Redick might both be done in LA as well — that’s bad for the Clippers, but a great opportunity to get some talent for the star-deprived Lakers.
