Lakers free agency rumors: 15 free agents that will be available

Chris Paul
After the league vetoed a trade that would’ve made Chris Paul a Laker a long time ago, now might be the best chance to see him in purple and gold. Like Griffin and Redick, he faces another shockingly early off-season.
Being that he’s in his 30’s now, it’s also a surprise to see him still be a top point guard in free agency. Last season, Paul averaged over 18 points and nine assists per game.
Having a point guard go after a double-double every night would definitely change the Lakers’ approach to the next few seasons. At first it seemed obvious that they’ll just let their young core develop into something special while waiting for guys like Paul George to come full circle.
However, getting their hands on Paul, at long last, could come as both a blessing and a curse.
It would answer who their true point guard would be out of the gate next season, but it would also test how the core handles a superstar with the way chemistry is right now. Drafting Lonzo Ball and pursuing Chris Paul would be a bold move by LA, as that could definitely lead to serious chemistry issues depending on the vocal parenting style of LaVar Ball.
