Brandon Rush

One of the valuable veteran pickups in terms of guards from the upcoming free agency could be Brandon Rush. Past his prime, Rush would be that veteran presence the team could utilize to develop their core guards like D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson.

Rush spent time playing under current Lakers head coach Luke Walton last year during a championship push and was part of the winning side of the NBA Finals to end the 2015 campaign.

Los Angeles could use that kind of experience, no doubt. In his eight years playing in the NBA, Rush has spent time with Indiana, Golden State, Utah, and most recently Minnesota.

Rush averaged just over four points and two rebounds last season with the Timberwolves. He won’t fill that superstar role that they’re looking for, but it might be as close to Lou Williams that they’ll get.
