Lakers free agency rumors: 15 free agents that will be available

Ben McLemore
It might be now or never for Ben McLemore to figure things out. After being picked up by Sacramento with the seventh overall pick in 2013, McLemore’s four years with the Kings haven’t been quiet.
He hasn’t fit in with Sacramento, and the dysfunction that the team continues to show won’t bode him well now or in the future.
So you could say that his free agency opportunity is a crossroad that will either make or break his career.
If he comes to Los Angeles, he’d be able to be comfortable not being the go-to guy. Taking a back seat on a team like the Lakers might be just what he needs.
Last season with Sacramento, McLemore averaged 8.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. Unfortunately, the majority of his career has hovered over the eight point average.
For a top ten pick, especially one that’s been in the league for four seasons now, it’s safe to say he’s under-performed. But perhaps a change of scenario would benefit him the most.
Being around a team with a vision and goals in mind — particularly a championship one — is what a guy like McLemore needs.
He’ll never get that in Sacramento under major changes within the organization take place.
