After yet another disappointing season there have been too many Lakers rumors to count. Dissecting these Lakers rumors, here are three bold predictions for the offseason.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been woeful the last few seasons, I have said it a million times before writing these articles and I likely will say it a million times again. For such a storied franchise, seeing a team in the lottery three consecutive years is quite shocking. We, the fans, have not seen this before from the Lakers, which has caused much desperation.

This desperation is what has caused the many Lakers rumors to circle around the NBA community. Seemingly every superstar in the NBA is somehow tied to the Lakers, and many expect the team to make a splash in free agency to bring in the superstar of the future.

While it is always nice to imagine the Lakers doing these moves, putting together a super team that will once again rule atop the NBA. However, in these imaginations us, the fans, tend to lose focus and reality on what is in front of us. The Lakers are a young, growing team. Bringing in one star will not turn them into powerhouses, especially in the landscape of today’s NBA.

That does not mean that the Lakers will not make good moves this offseason, or potentially even become a better team. However, unless Lebron James joins your team and brings in Kevin Love, we won’t see a team go from the lottery to the NBA Finals.

Therefore, keeping all of the recent Lakers rumors in mind, here are three bold predictions regarding the Lakers offseason.
